weather? nexrad?)

if so, is there a list of equipment that can play with it? I see only
the garmin gdl-90, for about $8,000. anything else that can go into
an experimental?

According to the magazine, they are broacasting for free, but I have no idea
about the equipments that use ads-b today.

doesn't give me equipment and is pretty vague on the weather
capabilities...

given that it is online now on the east coast, I was hoping there would
be more info now.

....and it is actually becoming more interesting, because according to
the AOPA website, the FAA has now already begun to switch off TIS over
mode-S. lovely---I have literally just bought a GTX-327. it would be
real nice to determine what ADS-B can do today and where.

If you're near NC, there are some demos set up for August:

I atteneded one of the demos and got a free demonstration flight. There was
nexrad, METARS and TAFs, traffic. The equipment was MX20 display and Garmin
GDL-something. The weather feed comes from WSI and there is no subscription
charge for ads-b users.

Steve Meritt(sp?) is the coordinator for NCDOT.
